The Translation Editor
The Translato Editor is a real-time, collaborative environment designed to make translation fast and accurate.
1. Navigating the Editor
- Language Selector: Switch between your target languages using the dropdown at the top.
- Search & Filter: Find keys by their name, source text, or translation. Filter by status (Missing, Done).
- Progress Bar: Track your completion percentage for the current language.
2. Real-time Collaboration
When multiple people are working on the same project:
- Presence: See who else is currently viewing the language.
- Locked Keys: When someone is typing in a translation, the field is temporarily locked for others to prevent conflicts.
- Instant Updates: See translations appear as others save them.
3. Translation Tools
AI Translate
Click the "AI Translate" button to generate a translation using your configured provider (DeepL, Google, etc.). Translato uses the surrounding keys and your source language to provide context to the AI.
Translation Memory (TM)
If a similar string has been translated before in any of your projects, Translato will suggest it. Click the suggestion to apply it instantly.
Context & Description
Always check the "Description" field for notes from developers about where the text appears or how it should be translated.
4. Key Statuses
- Missing: The key has no translation for the current language.
